Community Council Minutes 9-16- 2014
Lakeview Elementary Community Council Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 5:00pm
Members Present: Shirley Passey, Jared Marcum, Lisa Marcum and Amy Peterson
Members Excused: None
Items discussed:
1. The election of new members was uncontested. The new members are as follows:
a. Jared Marcum-Chair
b. Lisa Marcum- Assistant Chair
c. Amy Peterson- Secretary
d. Jenny McBride -
e. Devin McBride -
f. Kasey Koer -
g. Mike Kelso – not available
h. Shirley Passey- Principal
i. Melanie Vigil – teacher representative
2. We looked at the school web site and realized it needs to be updated with our current information: Names, positions and dates for future meetings.
3. Meetings have been scheduled for the following dates and times:
a. October 7, 2014 5:00pm
b. January 6, 2014 5:00pm (Tentative Meeting)
c. April 7, 2014 5:00pm
*All meetings held in the Principal's office
4. There is a meeting on November 6, 2014 at 10:00am with Paula Plant. It will cover changes that have happened and answer any questions.
5. Final reports are due October 20th.
6. Mrs. Passey will send the board the fall report and the current plan in the next day or two. We need to look it over so we can approve.
7. At the October 7th meeting we need to sign the forms.
8. We talked about some of the goals that we made last year that have been met. Eugene Padilla has been hired as the computer lab aid for 25 hours a week. Jenny McBride has been hired as a reading aide for 4 hours a day.
9. We talked about the money available to the school and the exciting things purchased for the school. Mrs. Passey asked if we thought the fundraiser money could be used for college
shirts for the kids so the teachers won't have to ask parents for money. Also, the money could be used to get some of the supplies needed in classrooms. It is
also used to help with fieldtrips. The board was in agreement.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:50pm
