Community Council Meeting Minutes

September 11, 2018

Members present: Shirley Passey, David Campbell, Amy Peterson, Cathy Fisher, Debbie Merrill Matty Bryant.

The meeting was called to order at 4:30.

For the first order of business we discussed that there is a change in the Trust Lands plan for this year.  The district will cover 75% of the math coach’s salary which was budgeted for in the current Trust Lands plan.  Because of this we now have $14,200 to spend. Several ideas were brought up.

1. Purchase more I-Pads for the kindergarten and first grades.  Right now each class only has 12 to share with all the children.  
2. Purchasing licenses for reading and math programs for the students to use on their chrome books.  Programs that were suggested were IXL and tumble books.
3. Another aid for the building.
4. A math tutor to help the math coach.  
5. Spend the money on several smaller things instead of one big one.  

Shirley will ask the teachers what they would like and bring those ideas back to the next meeting for the council to vote on.  

Next we talked a little about the Title One Plan.  We are not sure, as of now, how much money we have available.  We will review the whole plan in a future meeting.

Our next meeting will be November 6, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. in room 26.  We have also scheduled one on January 8, 2019 at 4:30 in room 26. We will plan the rest of the meetings after we learn more from Paula Plant about when things as due to be turned in to the district.
