Community Council Meeting
January 21, 2016
Present: Jenny Ross, Shirley Passey, Amy Peterson, Julie Bunderson, Lamar Bunderson, Karlee Treese
Absent: Jason Bird, Justin Starkey

Karlee Treese was officiating at the meeting.

We started the meeting by talking about the goals for 2015-2016. The school has a goal to increase student growth in Math and English by 3%. The school is doing this by using the master schedule and by using more Technology. Also, attendance is up more than 10% from last year. By having the children at school more the scores will go up.
Parents can get on the USOE website and access sample SAGE tests. Their children can take these sample tests for practice. The parents can take them to help them understand how the tests work.
We need more volunteers for Americorps. It was suggested that we send home a flyer to see if that will help get volunteers. The volunteers will help some of the students with reading.
We talked about how to help the children along the way when they have an increase in their scores. We decided to think about it and discuss it at the next meeting.
The next meeting will be on March 17, 2016 at 5:00pm.
